Every staff member is required to hold a valid Working With Children Check and complete a Prohibition Notice declaration prior to commencing employment. Our Management team undertakes all mandatory pre-employment screening and referee checks as required by the NSW Department of Education and ACECQA, ensuring that only suitable, qualified, and appropriate individuals join our organisation.
WWEYLC maintains rigorous interviewing, trialling, and induction processes for all new staff. This includes shadow shifts, child-safe practice expectations, policy and procedure training, and ongoing mentoring and supervision to ensure all educators uphold the highest professional and child-safe standards.
All educators, cooks, management, owners, and approved providers complete the mandatory National Child Safety Training through Gecko, alongside ongoing accredited training and refresher courses through the International Child Care College (RTO 90081), Evolation Learning (RTO 45219), the Office of the Children’s Guardian, Red Nose Safe Sleep Training, and Allergy & Anaphylaxis Training.
Leadership and Management actively promote a strong child-safe culture through their conduct, guidance, and expectations, supporting educators to remain vigilant, responsive, and committed to embedding robust child protection practices across all aspects of our service.
At Wagga Wagga Early Years Learning Centre, we value families as partners in creating a safe and supportive environment for children. Through our open-door policy, families are always welcome in our services and encouraged to be involved in their child's learning. We maintain open communication and provide clear pathways for families to raise concerns, ensuring every child and family feels safe, respected, included, and supported.
