Emma Bentley and Katie Howard are the Directors of Wagga Wagga Early Years Learning Centre. WWEYLC is a small family-owned business that aims to provide a safe, nurturing, stimulating and homelike environment. We invite enrolments for children aged from 6 weeks to 5 years. WWEYLC celebrated its grand opening in August 2012.
The centre includes purpose-built facilities, featuring large friendly rooms that are broadly divided into five age groups: 6 weeks to 2 years, 2 to 3 years, and designated 3-year-old, 4-year-old and 5-year-old rooms.
The ages in rooms are not set in stone, and vary slightly. Children are allocated to rooms according to their individual development and sometimes according to specific friendships. Children are only moved rooms after complete consultation with parents.
Rooms at WWEYLC are light and airy, and are furnished and equipped with a focus on natural materials. Toys and learning materials encourage exploration, discovery and interaction. Outdoor spaces continue this theme, with WWEYLC keen to foster an appreciation of the natural environment with an emphasis on sustainability. A vegetable garden, worm farm and recycling allow the children to develop environmental awareness, and provide a base for their ongoing education. WWEYLC also features an impressive undercover area which provides the children with a great play space, whatever the weather. Age-appropriate, safe, outdoor play equipment includes as a focal point a fabulous boat built from recycled materials in a dry creek bed.
Home-cooked meals are created by the WWEYLC cook in the brand-new kitchen on the premises, and menus are planned and updated according to the latest healthy food guidelines. Our menus provide an excellent selection and variety of food for all the children. The emphasis of our menu is on whole foods, and plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, while we encourage and promote a diet low in sugar, salt and saturated fats.
